Η βασίλισσα Ελισάβετ έχασε 35 εκαταμμύρια λίρες λόγω του κορωνοϊού

Μπορεί ο κορωνοϊός να άλλαξε την καθημερινότητα όλων μας, ωστόσο όπως αναφέρουν τα βρετανικά δημοσιεύματα, στην βασίλισσα δεν άλλαξε μόνο τις καθημερινές συνήθειες... αλλά της κόστισε και 35 εκατομμύρια λίρες! Αν αναρωτιέστε πώς, θα σας πούμε αμέσως.

Η πανδημία -όπως ήταν λογικό- κράτησε εκατομμύρια τουρίστες μακριά από το παλάτι, πράγμα που είχε ως αποτέλεσμα τα έσοδα της βασιλικής οικογένειας να είναι αισθητά μειωμένα. Συγκεκριμένα, όπως αναφέρει ο εκπρόσωπος των royals Michael Stevens η μειωμένη ή μηδενική προσέλευση ανθρώπων σε βασιλικά κτήρια κόστισε εκατομμύρια χρήματα στο παλάτι. Πέρα από αυτό, ο Covid-19 είχε έντονο οικονομικό αντίκτυπο στις δραστηριότητες του παλατιού.

Σε σχετικό δημοσίευμα του Associated Press, πέρα από την πανδημία, χρήματα τα τελευταία χρόνια φαίνεται να κόστισαν και οι Sussexes. Όπως δείχνουν οι βασιλικοί λογαριασμοί, τα έσοδα του παλατιού από την μέρα που το ζευγάρι παντρεύτηκε μέχρι και την αποχώρησή τους, ήταν αισθητά μειωμένα, συγκριτικά με τα προηγούμενα χρόνια - κάτι που εν μέρη φέρεται να οφείλεται στα υπέρογκα έξοδά τους. Να θυμίσουμε πως ο πρίγκιπας Harry και η Meghan Markle χρειάστηκαν περίπου 250.000 λίρες για το ταξίδι τους στη Νότια Αφρική και 2,4 εκατομμύρια λίρες για την ανακαίνιση του Frogmore Cottage. Όσο αφορά στα χρήματα που ξόδεψαν για την ανακαίνιση, φαίνεται να τα επέστρεψαν.
