Στα δικαστήρια ξανά η Meghan Markle: Η έκκληση στους δικαστές

Η 29η Οκτωβρίου είναι μια ιδιαίτερη και αρκετά δύσκολη -θα λέγαμε- μέρα για την Meghan Markle, αφού η νομική της ομάδα θα προσφύγει στο δικαστήριο στο Λονδίνο για να υποστηρίξει συνοπτική απόφαση και όχι πλήρη δίκη σχετικά με την μύνηση που υπέβαλε εναντίον της Mail on Sunday για ψευδή δημοσιεύματα και για το ότι δημοσίευσε χωρίς την άδειά της το γράμμα που εκείνη είχε στείλει στον πατέρα της - την περίοδο μάλιστα που εκείνη εργαζόταν κανονικά ως μέλος της βασιλικής οικογένειας.

Πέρα από αυτό, η ομάδα της δούκισσας του Sussex ζητά να καθυστερήσει η ημερομηνία δίκης καθώς αυτή την στιγμή οι δικηγόροι της ασχολούνται με την κυκλοφορία του βιβλίου, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, που γράφτηκε από τους Omid Scobie και Carolyn Durand.

Να θυμίσουμε πως στις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου η Meghan έχασε την προσπάθειά του να σταματήσει να χρησιμοποιείται η βιογραφία ως αποδεικτικό στοιχείο στην αγωγή.

I was verrrrrrrry conflicted about reading this book. I don’t usually read about contemporary Royals and I didn’t want to be voyeuristic about real people’s lives. However, I’ve listened to and read @scobiesnaps’ work for a long time and felt confident that he would do a fair and balanced job on their story. Having finished it, I can say that I was right. I don’t think that Meghan Markle has been given a fair shake AT ALL and it seems like she really tried to make it work for everyone. Ultimately, Prince Harry has long wanted an Out and he found it. I think we all remember the heartbreak of seeing 12 year old Harry walking behind his mother’s coffin and how we all wanted everything good for him. Seems to me that he found the person that supports him and loves him as he is and he wants to protect that. If you’re looking for the inside gossip, this book has it. It made me cry a few times, I raised some eyebrows, I gasped. It’s also a beautiful portrait of a modern fairytale (albeit with some very dark undertones). I did feel like the editing let it down a bit - Princess Diana for sure didn’t die in 1996 - but it was well worth the read.
